The certification course is a series of live online classes on Zoom — some already recorded and ready the moment you join, the rest held live together — weekly Q&As, hosted practice sessions, monthly live deepening sessions with Jacob and fellow practitioners, the Somatic Vocal Healing app to practise with, and a global community of people walking it with you, wherever in the world you are.
You don't have to want to work professionally with this to belong here. Many participants are here to go further into their own healing — to learn how to travel through the layers of a sound, how to meet the line behind them — and give back what was never theirs — how to hold space for the parts of themselves no one ever held space for.
The certificate is real. So is the path of becoming a practitioner. But the heart of this course is the journey itself.
Find your place on the path
The name certification course can be misleading. Yes — it leads to the certificate, to opening your own practice, to weaving Somatic Vocal Healing into the work you already do. But that is only part of it. At heart, this is a deepening journey — a path that takes you further into the work than anything else we offer, because everything from here on — the classes still to come, the Q&As, the practice sessions — is held live, with us in the room together.
This course has a dual purpose. First, it is about you. Second, about your capacity to guide, facilitate, and hold space for others. Everything you learn to do for someone else applies just as well to yourself.
This course will teach you to hold space for another voice. But you cannot hold space for a place in someone else that you have never visited in yourself.
So the path doesn't begin with anyone else's sound. It begins with yours. Before you learn to sit with another person's grief, fear, anger or pain, you spend twelve weeks learning to sit with your own — finding the sound of a feeling, staying with it safely, working with your own nervous system, until the practice is genuinely yours to hold.
That is why the path begins with the full 12-week course — the foundation the whole practice rests on. If you've already walked it — or an equivalent foundation — you step in from where you are. If you haven't, it's woven into your path: one continuous journey, from your own voice to the space you'll one day hold for someone else's.

How to travel through the layers of a sound — how to recognise feelings (high, low, trembling, sharp), how to follow what is underneath the first sound, how to land in the body, the lineage, or the present moment, and how to guide a whole vocal sound session from beginning to end.
A real fluency in the emotions that live underneath a sound: anger, fear, pain and grief. How each one moves, how it disguises itself, and how to meet it through the voice — so you can recognise what is truly being expressed and stay with it.
How to weave constellation work into a sounding session — how to bring in mother, father, grandmother, ancestors; how to give back what is not yours to carry; how to find the right sentences and let sound do the rest.

Once a month, current students and alumni gather live with Jacob to take the work wider — into questions that don't fit a single class, experiences that need more space, the practice as it lives now. Where students bring what came up in a practice session and want to look at it together. Where the work is examined out loud, week after week, until it becomes natural and easy.

A note on what this course is not: it is not a comprehensive training to become a therapist, coach, or psychologist. It is a course in Somatic Vocal Healing specifically. If you intend to work with clients professionally, you should already have a background in holding space and navigating emotional processes.
If you're wondering whether this course is for you — the wondering is part of it. So is the certainty. Whoever steps in — confident, trembling, or both at once — is met by the same work. What this asks for is your willingness to listen.
Working with this modality has completely changed my life — from being called 'walking dead' at work to almost completely living a normal life. It works on deep levels. On old, severe emotional traumas, family traumas, generational traumas. I've worked with clients who have been in therapy for 20 years and haven't left the house for 10. And they've been able to get on a train and go to the opera, hang out with friends they hadn't seen in years. It's changed how I work with clients — no matter what I do, hypnotherapy, anything — this is the core piece. Everything else is adjunct, because this is so effective with people.
I just find that I am able to express myself in a more authentic way than I have ever done before. And I find that so liberating. It builds a trust in me. I would be the type of person who would not say anything and then just explode. But more and more, that is becoming less. It changes everything — a seismic thing changing fundamentally at the very core. And because of that, different plants are growing out of the cracks.
I've just come from a work meeting, and my boss came up to me afterwards and said, “I really like how you spoke, it's really interesting to listen to how you give your ideas.” People never used to say that to me — because it wasn't true, I wasn't able to do that. What really excites me is that I can get into my own world and get out there and be authentically expressing myself. That, to me, is the hugest freedom.
I still have many insecurities around sounding. But the more I practice and the more I feel seen and heard, it really changes my everyday confidence. How I step up, how I deal with people, how I deal with conflicts, how I release the emotions and work through them. I am not sure I will ever feel complete in this work — still so much to explore. But these sessions gave me so much confidence, and so much love back and forth. I am grateful for this.
I had a terrible migraine when I joined the session. During the exercise of sounding the sound of pain, I went straight to the head. There was such a vibration behind my right ear that I almost had to leave. Then I felt a release, and by the end of the session the migraine was completely gone. That’s how beautiful this work can be — in the small migraine ways and in all sorts of other things you can’t even imagine come up and get released.

The full arc of the course matters. Every class builds on the last. If life pulls you away from a live session, the replay is enough — the manual is enough — but the material needs to be received.
You don't certify by reading. You certify by sounding, by holding space, by being held. The hosted practice sessions are where this happens.

His teaching is direct, embodied, and rooted in his own life. He doesn't claim to have learned this from books. He learned it the way most real things are learned — by going through it.
